Which Machining Applications?
OMATIVE ACM systems are available for use on machines performing any combination of the following machining processes:
- Milling
- Drilling, including deep-hole and gun drilling
- Turning
- Creep -feed Grinding
For each cutting operation within a part machining cycle, OMATIVE ACM system may be set up to run according to the optimization requirements of that specific operation.
In Roughing and Semi-Finishing operations, OMATIVE ACM systems run in their default Feed Adjustment mode to achieve cycle time reduction as well as damage protection. These operations are generally characterized by the following conditions:
- Variations in the cutting area
- Variations in the spindle load during cutting
- Significant amount material removal
- Gradual tool wear that calls for feed rate adjustment
- Significant risk of tool breakage
In Finishing operations, OMATIVE ACM systems monitor the machining process to avoid any unexpected conditions. They also log machining and production events for later display.
Aggressive Machining - When using aggressive part programs, OMATIVE ACM systems adjust the feed rate to protect tools, parts and spindle from damage.
Conservative Machining - When using conservative part programs that would otherwise involve excessive machining cycles, OMATIVE ACM systems adjust the feed rate to reduce cycle times significantly.
To have your machining applications evaluated, download an Application Questionnaire and submit the completed form. An OMATIVE representative will advise you about the applicability of ACM systems to your machining processes.
