OMATIVE Adaptive Control & Monitoring (ACM) systems provide the following features:
ACM constantly monitors spindle loads in real time during machining. The unique internal expert system uses the measured spindle load together with cutting tool data, workpiece material characteristics and machine tool specifications, to continuously calculate and automatically apply optimal cutting feeds in real time.
ACM’s systematic calculations ensure continuous optimization of the actual feed which is automatically adjusted for each specific cutting condition. When spindle loads are low, ACM increases cutting feeds above and beyond pre-programmed feed rates, resulting in considerable reduction in cycle times as well as continuous protection.
When spindle loads are high, the feed rates are lowered, safeguarding the machine and part from damage and virtually eliminating tool breakage. When ACM detects extreme load conditions, it automatically stops the machine to protect the cutter and the spindle and sounds an alarm .
